In this course, you will learn, step-by-step, how to perform a visual inspection, service valves, and work with full safety and technical rigor according to current regulations.

⚠️ Important: This course does not grant an official Visual Inspector certification. However, it provides a solid and up-to-date technical foundation to understand and correctly apply the new regulations regarding cylinder inspections.(Real Decreto 809/2021, de 21 de septiembre, por el que se aprueba el Reglamento de Equipos a Presión (REP) y sus Instrucciones Técnicas Complementarias)

Prerequisites

  • No previous experience or specific training is required. Just a desire to learn and improve your safety as a diver or professional.

Course Schedule

The Cylinder and Valve Maintenance Course takes place in a single 4-hour session, where you will learn:

  • Cylinder types: steel, aluminum, and composite
  • Thread types
  • Visual inspection techniques (internal and external)
  • Thickness and weight measurement
  • Valve types
  • Creating the inspection log/report
  • Legislation regarding inspection and filling
  • Complete visual inspection
  • Valve revision and maintenance
  • Use of specialized tools and equipment
  • BCD (Buoyancy Control Device)

  • Minimum 3 – Maximum 10 students

UPON COMPLETION

You will be qualified to:

  • Perform a basic visual inspection of cylinders.

  • Perform complete valve maintenance.
